Overview:  Compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare for billing purposes.  Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records.  May involve use of computer or typewriter, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping machines.

For this position:

*      You should have ability to verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.

*      You should have the ability to operate typing, adding, calculating and billing machines.

*      You should be able to prepare itemized statements, bills or invoices; and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.

*      You should be able to review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips or hospital records in order to compute fees and charges due.

*      You should have the ability to perform bookkeeping work, including posting data and keeping other records concerning costs of goods and services and the shipment of goods.

*      You should have the ability to keep records of invoices and support documents.

*      You should have the ability to resolve discrepancies in accounting records.

*      You should have the ability to type billing documents, shipping labels, credit memorandums, and credit forms, using typewriters or computers.

*      You should have the ability to with contact customers in order to obtain or relay account information.

*      You should have the ability to compute credit terms, discounts, shipment charges, and rates for goods and services in order to complete billing documents.

Overview:  Answer inquiries and obtain information for general public, customers, visitors and other interested parties.  Provide information regarding activities conducted at establishment; location of departments, offices and employees within organization.

*      You should have ability to operate a telephone switchboard or multi-lined phone.

*      You should have the ability to receive and record receipts.

*      You should be able to perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing written information and operating calculators or computers..

*      You should be able to greet customers and other persons communing into an establishment, determine the nature of their visit and direct or escort them.

*      You should have the ability to hear and resolve complaints.

*      You should have the ability to file and maintain records.

*      You should have the ability to transmit information or documents to customers using computer, mail or facsimile machine.

*      You should have the ability to schedule appointments, maintain and update records.

*      You should have the ability to analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers and the general public.

*      You should have the ability to provide information about an establishment such as the location of departments, offices or employees and services provided.

 Knowledge required:

1.       Oral Comprehension– ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

2.       Oral Expression – ability to communicate information and ideas.

3.       Speech Recognition – ability to identity and understand the speech of another person.

4.    Speech Clarity ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.

5.       Information Ordering – ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.

6.      Near Vision – the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

7.   Written Comprehension-the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

8.   Selective Attention – the ability to concentrate on a task for a long period of time without being distracted.

9.   Written expression – the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so other will understand.
